There is a new suspect reportedly in connection with Matthew Perry’s untimely death in October 2023.
Actress Brooke Mueller, who is also Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, has been repeatedly questioned by authorities in connection with the criminal investigation into Perry’s passing, as confirmed by In Touch.
According to a source close to the publication, 46-year-old Mueller was not at the sober living facility she resides in when police executed a search warrant in May. At the time, she was out exercising but was apparently “completely cooperative” upon her return. During the search, law enforcement officers confiscated an iPhone and a laptop from the Witchouse actress. Although she was not taken away in handcuffs, the investigation has prompted her to allegedly hire legal representation.
The source continued to the publication, “She’s hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living house with a search warrant. She’s being tight-lipped about the situation.” They added, “It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Matthew’s death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that.”
The beloved star of Friends tragically passed away on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54. Early reports suggested he may have drowned, while other sources indicated first responders were called for a cardiac arrest, with no drugs found at the scene.
An autopsy report released by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office in December 2024 later revealed that Perry died from the “acute effects of ketamine” and subsequent drowning. His blood tested positive for ketamine, a substance used to treat depression and anxiety. The report noted that the high levels of ketamine in his system led to cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression, ultimately ruling his death an accident.
Mueller and Perry reportedly became friends after meeting in rehab, an unexpected bond that has now drawn her into the investigation.
